5pcs 18cm / 7″ Maidan Nesting Dolls

Polkhov-Maydan handmade set of 5 matryoshka nesting dolls.
Presented Russian dolls are commonly called “Maidan Dolls”. The name has been taken from the make place, a vilage of Polkov-Maidan. The main element of the Maidan endemic doll is a multi-petal rosehip flower, surrounded by several half-opened buds. Painting a doll begins with drawing the contour with ink, then the product is primed with durable water-based potato starch coating, after painting, each matryoshka is covered with transparent varnish of the same background two or three times.

All dolls (except the last, smallest one) are fully detachable.

Due to a handmade nature, the sizes may not be all equal, colours & shades may look slighly different.

Opening tip: Do not twist to open as you may chip the paint. To properly open each doll, try to crack it in half.
